Cordova swept visiting Ellie Kokrine in conference action at home over the weekend.

The Lady Wolverines won a pair of lopsided games by scores of 48-9 on Jan. 23 and 40-20 on Jan. 24.

Cordova played an aggressive full court press, with Cordova Coach Brooks Fry using his entire roster in both contests.

Layla Phillips topped the Cordova scoring on Friday with nine points. Ten girls scored in that game.

Elizabeth Baenen and Isabelle Nothstine led the Wolverines with six points apiece on Saturday. Ten girls again scored.

The Effie Kokrine boys gave Cordova more of a challenge.

The Wolverines won 46-34 on Friday and 40-30 on Saturday. Both games featured up-tempo offense with lots of three-point shooting.

Effie made 13 three-pointers in the two games combined; Cordova finished with 10.

Eli Totemoff led Cordova with 16 points in the Friday game; he and Blake Bailey topped the Cordova High scoring with 13 points apiece on Saturday.

The Cordova teams now play a long stretch of road games, beginning with an invitational tournament at Lumen Christi on Jan. 29-31. The Wolverines have only one more set of home games, Feb. 27-28, against Nenana.

Regionals will be played at Effie Kokrine in Fairbanks on March 6-8.
