Salmon Jam schedule of events

Salmon Jam kicks off Friday, July 12 in Cordova. The festival features music, arts, small fry kids activities, Alaska Salmon Runs road race, Taste of Cordova Wild Food Cookoff and much more. Here’s the full schedule of events.

Friday July 12

  • 6 p.m. Opening night of the 17th annual Salmon Jam at the base of Mt. Eyak.
  • 6-9 p.m. Artisan Market featuring local artists, handicrafts, and delicious treats.
  • 6-10 p.m. Snack Shack serving home-made salmon creole and chowdah.
  • 6-12 p.m. Beer Garden featuring Alaskan Brewing Co.
  • 9 p.m. Cordova’s own insider warms up the stage.
  • 10 p.m. Headliner Dan Mac Band on stage!

Saturday July 13

  • 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. 33rd annual AK Salmon Runs. One-mile fun run all the way up to a marathon. You can still register the day of the races (except for marathon), starting at 8:30 AM at Cordova Community Medical Center.
  • 12-6 p.m. Dumpster Painting Watch community art in action at the base of Mt. Eyak.
  • 1-3 p.m. Small Fry Activities (FREE) for kids. A salmon fillet demonstration, fish printing, water table, slip-n-slide, and other fun activities. Artisan Market and Snack Shack are also open.
  • 3-5 p.m. Music Workshop percussion, bass, keyboard, horns, & vocals! FREE, Mt. Eccles Elementary School
  • 5-6:30 p.m. Alaska Salmon Runs BBQ ($15/adult, $8/child under 12) and race medal. Awards at festival grounds. (Dinner price does not include Salmon Jam admission).
  • 5-9 p.m. Artisan Market open again.
  • 6 p.m. Night two of Salmon Jam opens must have wrist band to enter.
  • 6-10 p.m. Snack Shack serving home-made salmon creole and chowdah.
  • 6-12 p.m. Beer Garden featuring Alaskan Brewing Co.
  • 7 p.m. Taste of Cordova Wild Food Cook-Off. Entries due 6:00
  • 9 p.m. Ke Kukui foundation ignites the stage.
  • 9:45 p.m. FIRE DANCE performed by members of Ke Kukui Foundation.
  • 10 p.m. Headliner Dan Mac band rocks again!

All activities take place at the base of Mt. Eyak ski hill unless otherwise listed. Registration and up-to-date information available at salmonjam.org.

Salmon Jam is presented by Alaska Salmon Runs, City of Cordova, Copper River Watershed Project, Cordova Arts, Cordova Chamber of Commerce, Prince William Sound Science Center, U.S. Forest Service, and Mt. Eyak Ski Hill as well as our many generous “spawn”sors. Proceeds from Salmon Jam support year-round art and cultural opportunities in Cordova, hosted by Cordova Arts, our local, all-volunteer arts council.
