The U.S. Coast Guard has deployed officials to extinguish a fire that broke out aboard an empty tour boat on the Whittier cruise ship terminal Monday morning.
Officials received a report around 11 a.m. this morning from bystanders who saw a blaze on Whittier’s north terminal, according to the Coast Guard.
Upon further investigation, officers observed a fire on the moored Klondike Express tour boat. As there were no passengers aboard, the Coast Guard reported zero injuries.
Crews released the Klondike from the pier and extinguished the fire.

Another cruise ship also docked at the terminal, the Norwegian Jade, departed the area safely.
The Coast Guard has also deployed a pollution response team to investigate any potential adverse pollutants as a result of the blaze.
