Members of the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council (PWSRCAC) plan to host a meeting and book launch in Valdez from May 7-8.
“Protectors of Prince William Sound,” by author and artist Tom Crestodina, explores the equipment, technology, local expertise and personnel it takes to make the region’s maritime oil spill prevention and response system one of the best in the world, the council said on April 23.
In conjunction with the meeting, the board of directors for Alaska Tanker Company, Hilcorp and the council will be co-sponsoring a public reception on May 6, outdoors from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Kelsey Municipal Plaza. In the event of bad weather, the reception will be moved to the Valdez Civic Center.
During the reception free copies of “Protectors of Prince William Sound” will be offered to those residing in the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill region. Crestodina will be available to meet community members and sign books.
