The Price William Sound Science Center (PWSSC) would like to invite you to the Ocean Sciences Festival!
For those of us living in Cordova, ocean connections are ubiquitous. Many wonderful, local organizations do work with, on, in, or near the ocean, and we want to share this important work with the community.
On Nov. 7, the Science Center will lead our second annual Ocean Sciences Festival at the Cordova Jr./Sr. High School. This event is all about connecting community, science, and opportunity through the discovery of ocean industry. Participating in the Ocean Sciences Festival will provide you with meaningful connections between community members, researchers, and ocean industry professionals.
We’ve invited local organizations to host booths that center on ocean-related work practices. All the booth leads will be sharing their work in a way that is approachable and interactive for learners of all ages. This is not your typical science education event, but rather a fun and exciting way to learn about the work happening in the region across various ocean-related fields, including, but not limited to, research, military, seaside safety, cultural knowledge, mechanics, and more. At the Prince William Sound Science Center, we strive to create events that foster an environment of information sharing, community creation, inclusivity, and engagement for all community members.
We hope you are as excited for this event as we are. Please join us for Ocean Sciences Festival at Cordova Jr./Sr. High School on Nov. 7 from 1-3 p.m.
We hope to see you there!
