With broken hearts and enduring love, we remember Roy Del Rosario Velasco, who passed away on March 24, 2025, at the age of 40. Roy lived a life marked by passion, generosity, and a deep connection to others.
Born and raised in Cordova, Alaska, Roy was a talented journeyman electrician who worked throughout the state of Alaska, dedicating his skills to serve and uplift the communities he so humbly served. His work was more than a job – it was a reflection of his commitment to helping others and doing things with pride and purpose.
Roy’s true heartbeat was music. From a young age, his talent was undeniable – earning a superior rating in high school music and going on to pursue his dream in California. There, he immersed himself in the vibrant music scene, performing, producing, and featuring in music videos. But what truly defined Roy was his desire to uplift others. He used his voice and platform to spotlight the talents of those around him, especially local artists from his hometown, weaving their sounds and stories into his own creations.
Roy had a magnetic presence. His infectious laugh, bright spirit, and genuine kindness left an impression wherever he went. He gave without limits, loved without conditions, and made everyone feel like family.
Roy is survived by his loving parents, Reynaldo and Lilia Velasco; his brothers, Alan and Ted; his sisters-in-law, Katie and Ashley; his beloved nieces, Eirene, Kailani, and Railynn; and his nephew, Atlas. He is also mourned by countless brothers and sisters not bound by blood, as well as many nieces and nephews, and godchildren who cherished him deeply.
Though he left this world too soon, Roy’s legacy of love, music, and selfless generosity will live on in every life he touched. He will be missed beyond words, and remembered always with grateful hearts.
