The first day of practice for high school basketball was Dec. 4. This year’s first opponent will be none other than arch-rival Valdez in Cordova on Dec. 20-21.
Other home games include Tok on Jan. 10-11, and the 42nd Cordova Annual Tipoff on Jan. 16-18.
The home schedule concludes with Cordova hosting Regionals on March 6-8. Nenana, Effie Kokrine, Glennallen, Tok and Cordova will all be vying for two berths in the State Championships in Anchorage on March 13-15.
Cordova has loaded up in challenging road tournaments this season also.
The boys will go to the Capital City Invite in Juneau on Dec. 26-28. Both girls and boys squads will go to the Lumen Tournament in Anchorage on Jan. 31-Feb. 1, along with teams from Unalakleet, Hooper Bay, Nenana, Suvalley, Petersburg, Wrangell, and Lumen.
The Wolverines will be at Valdez on Feb.14-15, for the Valdez Elks tournament, and then off to Metlakatla on Feb. 21-22, for their tournament.
Cordova also travels to Fairbanks to face Effie Kokrine on Feb. 27, and then Nenana for games on Feb. 28-March 1.
