Roundtable on National Marine Sanctuary nominations set for April 6

A roundtable discussion on two nominations for National Marine Sanctuaries in Alaska, hosted by NOAA Fisheries, will be held virtually and in person at the Hilton Anchorage on April 6.

The two nominees, both in the Pribilof islands, are St. George Unangan Heritage and Alagum Kanuux (Heart of the Ocean).

Register in advance at https://forms.gle/9XqrAKwUfc5LLyVP6. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The roundtable offers an opportunity to learn about the nominations, NOAA’s process for nominating and designating national marine sanctuaries, and for attendees to ask questions regarding the process and the nominations themselves.

The roundtable is being held in connection with the April meeting of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council at the Hilton Anchorage. Find more details about the roundtable and related documents at nominate.noaa.gov/nominations/
