An excited stream of supporters and curious Cordovans rippled through the new storefront of Seaside Salon, at 412 First Street, for its grand opening and ribbon cutting June 1.

The event was hosted by the Cordova Chamber of Commerce. The charming space which has previously housed a church, a tea shop and the Cordova Times office, is now home to the new beauty and wellness boutique.

Offering hair, skin and nail services along with a monthly guest massage therapist; the shop also keeps a generous supply of wellness and beauty products, from hair conditioning treatments and lip masks to essential oils and yoga mats.

Born and raised in Alaska, owner Ema Babic has been a Cordova resident for almost six years and has been in business for nearly three. Babic believes that taking care of one’s total health through mind, body and spirit is the best form of self-love there is.

“If I can help others to become their most empowered selves through beauty and wellness, then I have achieved my goal!” Babic said.
