Law & Order: May 31-June 6

The following incidents were reported to the Cordova Police Department between 5-31-19 thru 6-6-19. Any charges reported in these press releases are merely accusations and the defendant and/or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MAY 31, Friday:

8:20 p.m. Dispatch took in a bicycle as found property.  

JUNE 1, Saturday:

2:03 p.m. Caller reported screaming coming from a property near him. An officer responded to the area and was able to locate the source of the noise. The officer spoke with the parties involved and determined it was a verbal dispute. The parties separated, and no further incidents occurred.   

JUNE 2, Sunday:

12:30 a.m. Caller reported a dog that would not stop barking. An officer responded but was unable to locate any dogs. 4:28 a.m. Caller reported a reckless driver on First Street. An officer responded to the area and stopped the vehicle. 6 p.m. Caller reported a stolen firearm. An officer took the complainants information and is currently investigating.

JUNE 3, Monday: 

10:32 a.m. Caller reported their vehicle was damaged by somebody and would like an officer to investigate. An officer is currently investigating the incident.

JUNE 4, Tuesday

12:13 a.m. Thomas Wilson Tomaganuk, age 33 of Anchorage, Alaska, turned himself into the Cordova Police Department for an outstanding felony parole warrant.

JUNE 5, Wednesday:

Nothing to report.

JUNE 6, Thursday:

6:37 a.m. Caller requested assistance after they had locked themselves out of their car at the end of the Copper River Highway. A Forest Service law enforcement officer responded to the area and assisted the individual in getting back into his vehicle. 7 p.m. Dispatch received a bag that an individual had found on the ground and they believed it was lost property.  

DMV HOURS:

From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Thursday unless otherwise posted. DMV has moved to 602 Railroad Ave. Payments now accepted for dog licenses, ATV/snow machine registrations and citations.
