Blessing of the Fleet
Cordova District Fishermen United invites the community to join in on the annual Blessing of the Fleet at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 11 at the Coast Guard Dock. Vessels are asked to meet in front of the Coast Guard dock and tune to VHF channel 14.

Cordova High School graduation
The Cordova High School graduation will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the high school.
Used book sale
The Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting a used book sale between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. until May 23 in the basement of the hospital. Hardbacks are $1; paperbacks 50 cents. There are also puzzles and DVDs for sale by donation. Proceeds will go to the Hospital Auxiliary.
Cordova Cleanup Day
The Cordova Chamber of Commerce is hosting Cordova Cleanup Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25. Meet at the Cordova Center at 10 a.m. to get bags, gloves and location assignments. Participants meet at noon at the Cordova Center for a barbeque lunch, free for all volunteers. Volunteers will also receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win door prizes.

Moms, Pops and Tots!
A play group for children from infants to 4 years old is open from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays at the Masonic Lodge. The group focuses on exploring developmental issues and building on each child’s strengths through large-motor and small-motor skills play, pretend play and sensory play. Join members of the St. George Episcopal Church on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. at the Cordova Community Medical Center for their Tuesday gospel sing-along, started in honor of Frances Mallory, and led by Christina Vican and Rev. Knit & Lit Book Club
Bring your knitting and join the Knit & Lit Book Club at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the fireplace in the Cordova Public Library. The meetings are the last Tuesdays of every month. This month’s books are “The Immortalists” by Chloe Benjamin and “The Book of Dust” by Philip Pullman. May’s book will be “The Underground Railroad” by Colson Whitehead and June’s book will be “Noughts & Crosses” by Malorie Blackman.

Open studio life drawing
