PWS commercial shrimp pot fishery opens April 15

Registration is open through 5 p.m. on April 1 for the Prince William Sound commercial shrimp pot fishing season, which opens April 15, with an allocation of 68,100 pounds.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game advises that all participants must possess a 2019 P09E or P91E interim use permit available from the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission and a Prince William Sound area vessel registration. CFEC permits are available at cfec.state.ak.us/forms/Commercial_Fishing_Permit_Application.pdf or paper forms from ADF&G offices in Cordova, Anchorage, Soldotna and Homer, and by appointment with Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Seward and Valdez.
