BOF takes up finfish issues in February in Anchorage

Thirty-three proposals related to Alaska Peninsula, Chignik and Aleutian Islands finfish issues will be on the agenda when the Alaska Board of Fisheries meets Feb. 21-26 in Anchorage.

Copies of advanced meeting materials, including the agenda and roadmap, are available from the Boards Support Section, by calling 907-465-4110, or online at http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=fisheriesboard.meetinginfo.

The board encourages written comment on specific proposals and will be accepting on time public comment until Feb. 7. After Feb. 7, written public comments are limited to 10 single-sided or five double-sided pages in length from any one individual or group. These comments are recorded as record copies and inserted in board member workbooks at the start of the meeting and accepted until the board begins deliberation of proposals.

Oral testimony is also welcome during the meeting, with the tentative deadline to sign up for oral testimony being 2 p.m. on Feb. 21.

All portions of the meeting are open to the public and a live audio stream is intended to be available on the board’s website at www.boardoffisheries.adfg.alaska.gov.
