Due to lack of staffing, the Bob Korn Memorial Pool will be closed from May 14 through June 1.

“We hope to create a schedule and increase our lifeguard pool as soon as possible,” Susie Herschleb, director of Parks and Recreation, wrote on Facebook. “The Parks and Recreation Department will be transitioning into a new certifying body,” she added.

They will be moving from the American Red Cross to Ellis & Associates to train Cordova’s lifeguards.

A lifeguard training session to be announced soon is open to those 15 years and older. For further information contact Herschleb at 907-424-7282.
