Winter is making one last stand as we creep closer to May and the first signs of spring.

When Cordova woke up on Friday morning, April 11, there was two feet of new snow with the spring sun shining on it.

Cordovans appreciate the sun more than ever as we creep closer to spring and another fishing season.

Fisherman have had a long winter of struggle waiting for their own last stand as the verdict from the U.S. Supreme Court could be out any day – or maybe not. Like the weather, who can predict?

"Could they really make us wait till June?" is the question that is heard over and over again.
